This winter, I’ve been loving all the green striped shirts I’ve seen around town. They look effortlessly cool with jeans, and they’re an easy way to get in on the green trend that’s so big right now. Here are five versions: cotton, wide stripe, relaxed, organic, and rugby.
Socks are at the top of my birthday wishlist, so this Reductress headline made me laugh out loud.
Finally, baker Lucie Franc de Ferriere just opened an East Village shop, where all her cakes are topped with flowers. How beautiful is that? Feeling inspired to try decorating baked goods with flowers (as well as animals and photos, of course).
NYTimes bestselling memoir Dirtbag, Massachusetts came out last summer to great fanfare — winner of the New England Book Award for Nonfiction, a Time Magazine Must-Read Book of the Year — but for some reason I didn’t pick it up until this month. Wow, Isaac Fitzgerald’s unflinching and introspective story moves at breakneck speed from growing up in a rough rural town, where his friends started their own fight club, to bartending in San Francisco while struggling with drugs and body dysmorphia. I was hooked from his opening line: “My parent were married when they had me, just to different people.”
P.S. More fun things, and the best movie I’ve seen in ages.
