I just found this sweater the other day. Do you know if they will restock the striped sweater. I would love to own it.

When the sweater first came out, I was too late to the party and everything was sold out! I decided to take a look the other day, and to my surprise, they had one sweater left in the whole bunch! Two days later it is mine and my Kindle is tucked in the pocket along with some Halloween candy. Thank you for exposing me to a great company too!

I am wearing my navy reading sweater, now! today was a dreary day at home-so nice to have a cozy, fun sweater to pull on. I have the navy, and I would love to get another color when they restock (if they restock)

Darn it! I guess my Midwestern definition of “oversized” is a bit different than the one in NYC. I bought an XXL, though I am typically a L/XL, in the hopes of feeling some roominess. Unfortunately, the sweater covered neither my butt or wrists. I thought an oversized sweater is one that I could wear with leggings, so this misses the mark. I’ve not worn it buttoned, but I can only assume it is going to pucker too. It is lovely, warm, and well-made, but I wanted to let my COJ friends who are looking to purchase when they come available again that these are not oversized. I wouldn’t call it fitted, either. Thankfully the returns at Alex Mill look to be pretty generous, but to any southern Indiana/ Louisvillians in search of a navy XXL—I would be happy to save the hassle of returning!

My sweater just arrived! So excited for the cool weather coming this weekend to curl up with a book. Ordered the XL (would typically be a M) and it is perfectlyyyy oversized and cozy. Saffron color is gorgeous! Thanks CoJ team :)

FYI for those wondering about sustainability, etc. I reached out to Alex Mill last year to ask about it and this was their response:

We have close relationships with our partners and have been working with them since Alex Mill started back in 2013. We also make some t-shirts in LA, scarves in Italy, and special items in NYC. We work primarily with natural fibers, and we also do small-batch production with a local natural dye artist for our ongoing Alex Mill Editions collections.

You may be interested to hear that we’ve recently hired a sustainable design expert (me!) to join the team full-time, so we are actively working on company-wide initiatives to reduce waste in the design and production process.”

The sweaters are nice! Curious to know who made those cane chairs with the different colored frames. Thanks!

To summarize….
This is a beautiful, amazing sweater! BUT, we want it…
– in more colors
– in more sizes
– in organic cotton
– made locally and sustainably
– with better availability
– shipping everywhere in the world
– but with a lower price tag

While simultaneously…
– donating proceeds to local charities
– supporting communities experiencing natural disasters
– overcoming the social and economic issues of the Covid-19 pandemic
– and, encouraging people to vote

This is a steep request from a sweater that is inherently meant to induce lethargy. Don’t get me wrong, COJ is pretty fantastic! But, DANG, people…I don’t think that they have magical sweater-making wands!

Can you do a beauty uniform with this model!? Her hair is gorgeous.

Oh boy, I LOVE this cardigan .It’s perfect in every way but as I live in the UK sadly not an option for me.

I appreciate reading all the posts stating the pros and cons of purchasing a sweater for $140. Reflects the of realistic challenges of our society. My last sweater purchase was 5 years ago, a used cashmere pullover for $50. Still wearable with a few tiny moth holes. I consider this purchase a long time investment.

I’m reminded of an older post with the motherhood mantra, “Good for her, not for me.” I think that’s why COJ resonates with so many of us. Not every post (or sweater) is for every reader, but I love that this community is not another echo chamber.

It’s a very cute sweater and I bet it was super fun to work on the process of designing something with COJ readership in mind.

I’m stunned that 400 readers, who most likely weren’t particularly shopping for a new cotton cardigan for $140, but rather saw it, loved it, bought it in just a few hours, + another I don’t even know how many more would’ve bought but they were sold out, have that much disposable income right now. Clearly the pandemic economic crisis has hit many much harder than others. Also given the uncertainty that lies ahead, it’s just hard for me to imagine being so secure financially that you wouldn’t save vs spend on clearly a whimsical item. I read somewhere that although we are all in the same storm, we are most certainly not in the same boat – some are on yachts drinking champagne and some are clinging to a piece of driftwood with no life jacket. Just a shout out to those in the cheap seats – I see you and I understand.

Too late! Hope they make more…I waitlisted 2 colors.

This is expensive, and I certainly know that most can’t afford it. People are being evicted, have lost jobs, and loved ones due to the virus. Fires on the West Coast are raging. All true…terrible things happen all over the world every day. This blog can’t fix those things…although they do a good job posting about important issues. We also can’t fix those problems by not buying a sweater. BUT…whether or not we can afford to buy it, we can ALL VOTE!!!

I bought a sweater yesterday and it was a bit of a splurge for me. But….it just started feeling very FALL-like and I could really use an extra dose of comfort. Out of the blue, I just got an award at work that comes with a $500 bonus! Woot! Thank you stars for aligning this week! This will know be known as my award-winning sweater.

This sweater looks so cozy! But I wonder if you would consider using organic cotton in future collaborations.

I live in FL, where it is way too warm for sweaters 11 months out of the year, but this is genius. Good pockets are so clutch.

I hope that these not only come back but become a long term item – I would love to get more than one or buy one for a friend as an indulgent gift but at $140 each it is a stretch to do it all at once.
