My husband and I were quarantined living in China for a while and when things got worse in worse in terms of the government persecuting foreigners, we came back to the U.S. so now it’s been 3 months of no haircut…in a moment of mental instability I chopped mine off…..not methodically working at it but just pulled out scissors and hacked off my ponytail as I was brushing out tangles one night….can only laugh…I look terrible. But hey, gives me a chance to give my hair a break from all the dye and constant stress of blow drying and straightening. :)

I just cut my own hair today because I’ve had to skip TWO hair appointments now and it was getting to that flippy stage at my neck. My 12 year old daughter helped me by cutting the bulk of it and holding a hand mirror up for me while I fine tuned the back. My wavy hair is working for me since it hides minor uneven pieces!

I needed to see this video today! Thank you for cutting your bacngs and posting it. I loved it! I have been working all day calling parents to get them set up to pick up technology for their children and realized that I haven’t even brushed my hair. I don’t have a face for bangs but girl, you are rocking them!!!

Very guilty of attempting to cut my bangs last week. There is a reason why I’m not a professional hairstylist! She did a great job though!

I’m 40 and I’ve had bangs since I was like 3. I go to a salon every 5 or 6 months, so I’m used to cutting my bangs at home.

I’m so curious how often everyone gets their hair cut? I was shocked when I started to hear women on social media talking about being overdue for hair appointments, weeks ago. My state has only been on shelter in place since mid March, so not even a month. I know other places have been for longer though.

I only get my hair cut twice a year and got mine in February. But even if I hadn’t, it wouldn’t be crazy out of line even by now. I have long natural color hair that I air dry and very rarely use a curling iron so it doesn’t get damaged.

I had a haircut/color about 3 weeks ago and so everything is stable at the moment. My 98 year old mother-in-law though….she has ALWAYS been obsessed with her hair and would go in once a week. (how anyone can go an entire week without shampooing is something that puzzles me.). Anyway she had her first ‘blow-out’ of her life and it’s all she can talk about now.

Over the weekend, I’ve given my husband a trim, waxed my legs, gave myself a pedi and also freshened up my own bangs. Very stressful times, but it all turned out semi-ok. It will all have to do until we can have access to the professionals to do their thing again. At least we have no bald spots.
My hairdresser will freak out, no doubt, but I will profusely apologize

Back when we first went into quarantine, my hair dresser text all her clients telling us not to box color our hair or cut our own bangs. I feel like she was specifically talking to me because I have cut my own bangs before and been reprimanded by her for doing so. Ha!

I had my boyfriend cut my hair a few weeks ago. I can’t even blame it on the quarantine, since it was just starting. I just wanted a haircut, he was there, hair grows back, and I am not particularly attached to it. I haven’t had my hair this short since I was 8, but you know what? I love it! It took him like 5 minutes, no fuss, and I don’t think I will go to the hairdresser any time soon.

This was so fun and adorable! I haven’t wanted to play with my hair for a while but all these videos and memes make me want to. It’s funny but I was playing with haircuts and straight perms and curly perms and color dyes most of my adult life so far and then one day I just stopped, 1) because I couldn’t be bothered with the maintenance and the knotty hair was baddd, 2) the realization that I’m always me and I was using hair as a way to project a personality whether to myself or others.

I myself have just been washing it almost everyday now because of more time to exercise everyday, my favorite so far is doing “girl” routines with my boyfriend and I’ve never laughed harder during the vaguely dance move parts… and he realizes it’s not just for girls given how sore and out of breath he is!
My point was that it’s been the way more frequent hair washing has been leading me to blow drying my hair into possible obliteration (for fear of catching a cold) when during pre-quarantine I just
air-dried, and in order to avoid seeing the possible damage, I just avoid looking in the mirror, lol!

I ordered Overtone rose gold for brown hair and died my grown-out balayage highlights at the ends of my long hair as soon as the shelter-in-place was announced! I work in a conservative work environment where I don’t think I could get away with pink hair, but now that I have it I love it and never want to go back!

Well well, I was planning on cutting my own, BUT, I have curly hair… And I don’t have much hair, so trying to figure out how to tackle it. And not to mention I’m doing it without my husband knowing, i don’t think he gets the curly hair bang thing :D

I definitely cut my partner’s hair a couple of weeks ago when we realized it would be a while before he was able to get it professionally done. It was my first time cutting hair, and completely nerve wracking, but it was reassuring very few people would see it if it went badly. It wasn’t perfect, but I feel a lot more confident about having to do it again soon.

My very short red pixie, which I normally get cut/colored every 4 wks, is now at week 7. I now have a very bushy (thick hair) mullet developing. It’s also calico (red/gray/whatever my natural color that I haven’t seen in 25 years is). I had been considering growing out my gray anyway, so I guess this is the time to see how it looks!

I’m a once-a-year haircut type, and I was just getting ready to book with my stylist when everything was cancelled. Now, my deliberately low-maintenance hair is beginning to resemble one of Marge Simpson’s sisters. My hair is breast length, somewhat wavy and coarse, but the back part has become strange and thick and is approaching afghan hound level.

Does anyone have any tips or links to tutorials for how to thin out thick hair (while not compromising length)? I’m really yearning for some long boho hair as opposed to my current long down comforter hair. Thanks!

I cut my own hair last weekend! Followed a tutorial by Pick Up Limes (should come up if you search it on Google or YouTube) and it worked pretty well. Could I have done a better job? Absolutely. Do I hate it? No, I actually kind of love it–and might even do it again.

I wear my hair shoulder length to long and only get it cut 4-5 times a year. But can we talk about eyebrows??? I usually get those waxed every 6 weeks. I tweezed the other day, feel like they may never be the same!
