I’m uncomfortable issuing judgments on this. Many people have the ability to grow a mustache, many people don’t. Many reasons exist for maintaining mustache hair in many different ways, and some of them are not optional. Many are tightly tied to wealth, health, and gender privilege. I don’t want to put my own facial and body hair decisions/situations out for public vote and therefore I don’t do it for others either.

As someone who grew up with a crush on Tom Selleck from Magnum PI, I am all for a nicely groomed mustache!

Oh yes, I am here for Tom Selleck and his mustache… mustaches are making a comeback and I am all for it! My husband has been wearing one and I think it looks really hip.

When I like 5 or 6, and my older sister was either 8 or 9, we shared a room. Above her bed, hung a very age-appropriate poster of Ricky Schroeder, taken from the pages of ‘Teen Beat’ magazine. Above my bed hung a glorious poster of Tom Selleck, wearing tiny O.P. shorts and his beautiful mustache! 5 year old me had very specific tastes apparently. Team mustache!

Haha! That is great and honestly pretty sexy. My husband does the same thing, sporting different options. He has fantastic facial hair and I love how he looks with and without. However, one day, years ago, he decided to surprise me with what is (now I know) known as the “zappa” (he had a different name for it). I felt so bad because every time I looked at him, I would burst out into full laughter. Tears and all. I could not help it! He was a little offended as he actually quite liked it. Needless to say, at some point he gave up and shaved it. Over the years, the zappa has occasionally made a reappearance, and I have since come to accept it. But oh that first time gave me such a good belly laugh. Lol.
