When I’m shopping, I’m always looking for pieces I can wear for years. And someone who nails that timeless look is London-based social media manager Kim Turkington, who runs the blog Love Cloth. Her mix-and-match ensembles look effortless, and I recently asked her how she does it…
Above: Shirt: COS. Jeans: RE/DONE. Sandals: Birkenstock. Necklace: Missoma.
“At age 33, I’ve finally found my style — all grounded on denim, white and navy. Denim and red lipstick is always so good. This lipstick is NARS Heat Wave. And I live in these RE/DONE jeans. They’re the perfect straight leg jean.”
Dress: Faithfull the Brand. Sandals: Birkenstock.
“I love Faithfull’s cotton dresses when I’m going on holiday. They’re a little sexy but you can wear them with sneakers or chunky Birkenstocks so you can walk for ages. When we’re outside, we also wear masks, of course. Boden uses offcuts to make theirs.”
Shirt: Arket. Tank: Weekday. Jeans: Levi’s. Sandals: Birkenstock.
“During quarantine, I feel like I’ve completed Netflix. (If you have any recommendations, please send them my way!) I’ve read quite a bit, too — Where the Crawdads Sing was my favorite. I also read Little Fires Everywhere and then watched the series. I love Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.”
Dress: Free People. Sandals: Arket.
“Fashion has always been in our family. My mum owns her own shop back in Ireland, and my brother works for a men’s clothing shop. Unfortunately, dad has to listen to us all talk about clothes, bless him. I like simple pieces with a twist. For example, this dress has big sleeves and a deep V-neck. I don’t think it will ever go out of style. When things are white, navy or black, they tend not to date as quickly.”
Bodysuit: Free People. Trousers: Sunspel. Sandals: Zara. Bag: Acne Studios.
“I’m into blue on blue, like these trousers with this blue shirt. A bodysuit is handy, since it doesn’t creep up; it’s a bit tidier. And I’ve used this bag so, so much; it’s a great investment piece. It’s big enough to hold everything, but it’s also really light because it doesn’t have hardware. And it doesn’t have branding on it, so it’s not trend-led; you know it will work for years to come.”
Thank you so much, Kim!
P.S. More women share their weeks of outfits, including a nutritionist and an architect.
