I also work in HR and Recruitment and completely disagree with you on this one. Post pandemic especially I think its completely plausible for someone to leave a job without having another lined up if they are financially able. There could be a million reasons why someone would leave without having a job lined up – the last thing I would think is that they are unstable – I also wonder if you would describe a male in that way?
My sister spent 8 years working 2 hour days for a small PR Firm until she was basically bullied out – she up and quit without a job lined up and she is now CEO of the Digital Marketing Agency she works for because she is incredibly stable but woke up and realised her worth.

Maggie, see if your local public library has a subscription to the database Brainfuse Job Now. My public library offers it and I’ve gotten FREE job coaching- it’s live professional job coaches who tailor your mock interviews based on the actual job post (so it’s not just generic help). You can also submit your resume and they will also give you tips on that. Good luck!

I feel like the battle lines have been drawn in my family (I am the black sheep liberal) and I just don’t know how to fairly stand my ground against what I deem ugly or misinformed points of view. I’d love your thoughts.

I love tv shows and I’m not a big reader. To push me into reading, I decided to read the book first before watching a tv series or a movie it was based on. It worked for ‘ Big little lies’ and ‘The handmaid’s tale’, for example. It is also nice to compare the book to the tv adaptation. :)

Zoe, yes! Permission to read *whatever* you want and not feel bad about it or that it’s a waste of time. Similarly, it took me years before I realized that I could PUT DOWN a book that I wasn’t enjoying. I don’t have to finish every book I start. How freeing.
