I’m a grandmother with four grandsons, so I’ll pass this along to their moms. And I hope they sit beside me on the couch and help me with the latest technology when they are teenagers.

I wanted to add to #16 “That said, if you make one rule, let it be this: “Don’t ever try meth, crack cocaine, or heroin. Ever, ever, ever.” I would add don’t ever take a pill of any kind from a friend or acquaintance (only from a doctor) because you never know what you are getting, and it could be deadly.

Or they could just sleep over and I would get them in the morning, It was a free pass, just call me and do not drive or get into a car with someone who is impaired. Fortunately neither of my kids had to take me up on this,,,, but at least they knew there would be no punishment if they did. They grew up to be loving, responsible, empathetic men and I cannot imagine my life without them, If they weren’t my kids, I would still want them for my friends,

Blessed with one son,I relate but never felt wise. Our bound taught me more about the male perspective and continues to this day. My approach was to listen. Listening, welcoming conversation, encouraging follow thru came natural because my boy taught me those skills. As Moms, we can learn so much from our kids.
