Quick Paris Trip

As I mentioned, Stella and I were lucky enough to take a work trip to Paris this past weekend. We had the best time and kept joking that it felt like our honeymoon. Here are a few photos, if you’d like to see…

Sezane Store in Paris

We were doing a shoot with Sézane, our favorite French fashion brand. (Can’t wait to share the photos in a couple weeks!)

We flew overnight on Friday and spent Saturday and Sunday scouting and photographing places for an upcoming Paris city guide.

We tried to ignore jet lag and, in between shoots, soak up as much of the city as possible. We biked around and took long walks…

…stopped by the Rodin Museum and the Musee D’Orsay

…and window shopped at Deyrolle and Merci.

We saw beautiful statues around the city, but funnily enough, I kept accidentally thinking of them as an Instagram meme. The guy above: “Me rn.”

We rented a One Fine Stay apartment in St. Germain with gorgeous views…

…although the apartment was on the fourth floor, we happily climbed the stairs because THE ELEVATORS WERE SO TINY OMG.

Naturally, we prioritized food and had delicious meals at Clamato (seafood) and Breizh Café (crepes). And our final dinner was at Chez Janou, which felt lively and welcoming with big posters, fun younger people, sweet older couples in thick sweaters and incredible scallop risotto.

But one of the best things we ate was falafel! In this post, we saw tons of comments about a spot in the Marais — L’As du Fallafel — which readers were flipping out over. And, true enough, the sandwich was AMAZING with crispy eggplant, moist falafel, soft pita, tomatoes and lettuce. Thank you so much for the recommendation.

Some other cute things we noticed: handsome men carrying armfuls of baguettes, girls wearing all black plus Stan Smiths, a killer beauty selection in drugstores, kids cruising on balance bikes, people eating very late in restaurants, approximately one million camel-colored scarves, and swarms of rats in parks at night!

Although spring or summer in Paris would be magical, we also loved visiting in January. Short days, long dark nights, misty rain… it felt like this painting. Thank you so much for reading! We’re looking forward to sharing an official Paris city guide next month, as well. xoxoxo

P.S. One woman’s solo trip to Paris, and a French bra trick.
