What are your plans for the weekend? New York is so gorgeous and sunny right now that we just want to knock around and hang on our stoop. I’m also excited to watch the next episode of The White Lotus, even though the show stresses me out. Hope you have a good one, and here are a few fun links from around the web…

Is this the coziest house of all time?

LOVE these mix-and-match swimsuits (and they’re having a big promo!)

How to look like Elaine Benes. (Vogue)

Here’s what Matthew Perry had to say about various celebrities in his memoir. “Fairly early in the making of Friends I realized that I was still crushing badly on Jennifer Aniston. Our hellos and goodbyes became awkward. And then I’d ask myself, How long can I look at her? Is three seconds too long?” (NYMag)

A great, gripping movie about a gymnast.

Catbird is having a sale, and I love love love love this necklace and this bracelet.

Definitely handing out potatoes next Halloween.

Made me laugh.

New York has some wild outdoor dining sheds. (NYMag)

A funny to-do list, of all things.

Unlikely simultaneous historical events. For example, the first wagon train of the Oregon Trail headed out the same year the fax machine was invented. (!!)

Plus, two reader comments:

Says Connie on what’s your post-kids’ bedtime ritual: “Once the kids are in bed, my husband will ask, ‘How long do you think we’ve got?’ (meaning, how tired are we). He’ll then choose a show, while I walk to our storage room and grab one of our ordinary suitcases. THIS, gentle reader, is what we call ‘The Suitcase of Happiness.’ It contains all manner of snacks: candies, popcorn, chocolate, and mixed nuts. We will also get the dog a chew stick we refer to as a ‘nightcap.’ The best.”

Says Allison on how to get mood lighting at home: “Battery operated pillar candles are great for lateral lighting. Arrange them in groups on shelves at the right height for a nice glow! I also love them for dinner party lighting.”
