Not to be an alarmist, but if your nail beds are “clubbing” – which is the term used by pulmonary and vascular physicians – this may be a symptom of low oxygen absorption which may occur over time. It is something that cardiologists observe as well. I hope you will see your primary doctor and discuss..

Late to the party, but gel manicures were the only thing that stopped me after 25 years of biting my nails! I got myself a gel lamp and bought some polishes and learned how to do my own to save money, and I haven’t bitten my nails in 5 years!

That totally does look like the inside of a shell! I’ve had the same go-to color palette for my nails for over a decade now: silvery-gold with just a bit of sparkle… sometimes it’s more gold, sometimes more silver, sometimes less sparkly, sometimes more, but it sticks around the same realm, nevertheless. It’s metallic-y and sort of bold, but still subtle and cozy somehow. I rock a short nail most of the time, but if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll go with a longer look, and I think the color looks good either way!
